The Municipality of Tantramar is developing a Recreation Master Plan to guide the provision of recreation facilities, spaces, programs, and services over the next 10 years. What is a Recreation Master Plan?

· A Master Plan is a long-term strategic planning document that provides a roadmap for the future of recreation in the Municipality and will be used by Council and administration on an ongoing basis to inform prioritization and decision making.

Why is this plan important?

· The Municipality of Tantramar recognizes that recreation facilities, spaces, programs, and services are vital community assets that enhance residents’ quality of life and foster meaningful connections. The plan will help the municipality prioritize investments, make informed decisions and use resources effectively, ensuring that opportunities are accessible, sustainable, and aligned with the communities interests.

How do recreation services benefit the community?

· These services play a critical role in addressing growing social and health challenges. Even residents who do not actively participate, benefit from these services, as they contribute to stronger community connections, local pride, economic impact, and improved overall wellness.

  1. Two Public Consultation sessions will take place next week.
    1. October 15 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Civic Centre
    2. October 17 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Dorchester Veterans Community Centre

    1. The consultants will be at the Farmer’s Market (9-10:30am) as well as the Wetlands Celebration at the Waterfowl Park (11am-2pm) on October 18th to talk with anyone who’d like to chat about recreation.
