DESCRIPTION:FRENCH TITLE: “Le petit-déjeuner/débat de Mount A: Vivre avec le trouble du spectre de l’alcoolisation fœtale”. \nMount A Breakfast Chat is a public/free event where you can discuss issues in science and health in an informal setting. \nIn Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)\, alcohol exposure in the womb is a leading contributor to complex physical and neurobehavioural problems in children\, youth\, and adults. An early diagnosis of FASD is critical to improve the quality of personal and family life. If you are interested in learning more about FASD because you care for or interact with a child/youth or adult with FASD\, this Mount A Breakfast Chat is for you. In this free and public event\, we will chat about the following: the basics of FASD\, the diagnostic journey across the lifespan\, learning challenges\, sociolegal effects\, support systems\, and tips for resilience. SUMMARY:Live Bait Theatre Season Launch and Salon Reading
DESCRIPTION:Live Bait will be launching our 2017/18 season and presenting a Salon Reading\, featuring professional actors and musicians reading the play “The Paris Crew” by Michelle Daigle and Don Rigley. ​”The Paris Crew” tells the exciting story of four Canadian sport rowers from New Brunswick who became Canada’s first-ever international sporting champions in 1867. An entertaining Canada 150 celebration\, with exciting news about Live Bait’s upcoming season which will include dinner theatres\, music\, an original professional musical based on a local story\, and other surprises. \n“We’re so excited to have Live Bait presenting the world premiere staged reading of our play. This is a work in progress and we are looking forward to taking it to the next level”\, said Michelle Daigle\, co-writer of the script and President of Live Bait Theatre. “Live Bait has such an amazing season lined up\, using New Brunswick talent\, and telling our stories in a way that any theatre company in the country would be proud of. We’re so honoured to be part of this event and to be contributing to the company.” \nThe season launch and Salon Reading is free\, but seating is limited and reservations are recommended. The event will be held at the Marshlands Inn during Sackville’s Fall Fair on Friday\, September 15. SUMMARY:2017 Tourism Season Planning Session
DESCRIPTION:The Town of Sackville will be holding two meetings to develop priorities for tourism related programming and promotions for the Town in 2017. The meetings will help to set the direction and priorities for the Department of Tourism and Business Development\, as well as to create collaboration and cooperation opportunities. The content of the two meetings will essentially be the same\, but people are welcome to attend either or both (the meetings will be very participatory\, so they will be different). Any interested individual is welcome to attend\, business owners and people connected to tourism attractions are especially encouraged to participate. The first meeting will be held Thursday\, February 2 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at the Marshlands Inn (a complimentary breakfast will be provided)\, the second meeting will be held Wednesday\, February 8 from 7 pm to 9 pm at Town Hall.
