DESCRIPTION:Festival 2025 will close with our final and third concert featuring the Choeur Louisbourg\, an Acadian professional chamber choir based in Moncton New Brunswick\, under the artistic direction of Monique Richard. The choir shares roots with the festival\, as both were founded by one of New Brunswick’s leading Francophone arts leaders\, Réjean Poirier. We are excited to collaborate with Choeur Louisburg for our Roots | Racines season\, and the choir will present a celebratory concert of Italian Renaissance and Baroque choral music in collaboration with select members of Ensemble SFEM.

Also featured will be Canadian Eleanor Daley’s grandmother moon\, written on the stunning poem by Mary Louise Martin\, a member of Millbrook First Nation (NS)\, celebrating connections\, the earth\, life\, joy\, and peace in the world. \nSingle tickets may be purchased at the door: $15 adults; $10 seniors and students; $30 family.\nAll Music Department concerts are free for current Mount Allison students with a valid ID card. \nThis concert has been made possible by support from the J.E.A. DESCRIPTION:The Mount Allison Department of Music welcomes Grammy-nominated composer Missy Mazzoli to the Conservatory as the fourth Bragg Artist-in-Residence\, November 15 to 18\, 2022. \nThe composer will discuss her dramatic works for the stage in the public talk “From MTV to the Metropolitan Opera: Operatic works by Missy Mazzoli.” \nThe talk will take place on Thursday\, November 17\, at 7pm in Brunton Auditorium. Admission is free; all are welcome to attend. This event\, which is open to the public\, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium\, Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music.
