DESCRIPTION:MAKER MAKER is back! Join us for our first workshop of the fall and learn to make your own hand-cut vinyl stickers with Sackville artist Jerry Ropson. \nCut and layer shiny sign vinyl to make one-of-a-kind stickers to embellish everything from your notebooks to your phone case. Make mini-stickers\, bumper slogans and sweet gifts for friends. \nWe’ve ordered up a kaleidoscope of colours for inspiration and we’ll have all the tools you’ll need to get started. \nJerry Ropson maintains an unconventional art practice that crosses media and scale\, from multifaceted installations and site-specific interventions to tiny\, photocopied zines and ceramic miniatures. He is a storyteller and collector whose work explores rural experience and his own upbringing in the small community of Pollards Point in Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland). Jerry is an Associate Professor in the Fine Arts Department at Mount Allison University where he teaches painting\, drawing\, performance and advanced seminar. \nMAKER MAKER is a monthly program of seriously small after-hours art workshops. Led by diverse Maker Mentors\, each workshop introduces a pocket-sized art project that can be made in two hours or less. Designed for accomplished and aspiring makers alike\, MAKER MAKER is for anyone interested in making small things by hand with friends and fellow makers. This informal workshop series explores how working small can be practical\, portable and playful\, economical\, sharable and even wearable. \nMAKER MAKER is free\, and all materials are provided\, no registration required. Old Man Leudecke is $30\, Garnet is $30\, Connie is $30\, and Harry is $40 – to purchase tickets for any concert visit www.festivalbythemarsh.com – and there are a limited number of series passes available for $115 – to purchase a pass click here. \nOld Man Luedecke is the recording name of two-time Juno Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter and banjo player Christopher “Chris” Rudolf Luedecke of Chester\, Nova Scotia. He is most noted as a two-time Juno Award winner for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year – Solo\, winning at the Juno Awards of 2009 for Proof of Love and at the Juno Awards of 2011 for My Hands are on Fire and Other Love Songs. \nIn 2012 Tender is the Night was released and picked up a Juno nomination as well as “Folk Album of the Year” from Music Nova Scotia. \nLuedecke has also toured as a member of The Pan-Canadian New Folk Ensemble with Kim Barlow and Christine Fellows. \nIn 2019 he recorded an album\, Easy Money\, at Montreal’s hotel2tango studio with local folk musicians Howard Bilerman\, Afie Jurvanen\, Fats Kaplin and Tim O’Brien. \nHis 2024 song\, She Told Me Where To Go appears in the soundtrack of Pacific Drive (video game)

SUMMARY:Fall Hike Series - Pink Rocks Hike
DESCRIPTION:Pink Rocks Trail to Pink Rocks beach. This is a favourite local Bay of Fundy hike! Parts of the trail can get very wet\, but the Dorchester Trails committee has done an excellent job of creating walkable routes around the puddles. The beach is exquisite and provides lots of additional walking. 6 km return on the trail\, + beach walk (1-3 km possible) easy-moderate\, flat terrain\nMeet at 9am in the parking lot behind the Sackville post office for carpooling!
