Devastated, the newly deaf Wilde is summarily abandoned by virtually everyone he knows and forced to seek out new purpose and meaning in his life. What follows is both hilarious — confronting a cocaine “badger” — and touching —reconnecting with music despite his deafness. Canadian Michael Dowse directs with great style and wit, deftly balancing zany humour with honest sentiment. IT’S ALL GONE PETE TONG remains a hidden gem of Canadian cinema.
