DESCRIPTION:Mount Allison choristers\, directed by Dr. Kiera Galway\, are joined by the Brogue Saxophone Quartet to perform Gavin Bryars’ “The Fifth Century”. Setting a text by the poet and theologian Thomas Traherne\, British composer Gavin Bryars has created a compelling\, extended modern work combining the human voice with the vocal timbre of saxophones. Experience this moving\, haunting music that won a Grammy Award\, performed in the beautiful Mount Allison Chapel. \nFree-will donations will be received at the door\, with proceeds for student scholarships and awards.
