Montreal Massacre Memorial
December 6, 2019Join Mount Allison University groups SHARE, PACGWI, the Indigenous Affairs Office, and the Rose Campaign for a vigil aimed at raising awareness for, and taking action against, gender-based violence.
December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This year, December 6th is the 30th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, when 14 women were killed at École Polytechnique. It is a time to recognize historical and on-going gender-based violence, and to take action to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence. It is also a time to acknowledge that indigenous women are disproportionally affected by violence, as are members of the LGBTQ2S community. This year, we will meet at the Owens Art Gallery at 6:00. All are welcome.
